Katie Helm
Katie Helm is the crafter and owner of Suraya's Elysium. She has a degree in Chemical Engineering and Computer Information Systems. However, she has been making costumes for most of her life. She started doing applique for Amtgard in 2009. As you can see in her applique gallery, there are quite a few different ways she has used this skill. In 2016, she began dabbling in chainmaille. She loved it so much that in 2018 she began selling it!
So who is Suraya?
Suraya is the name Katie goes by in Amtgard, a midieval roleplay group she is apart of. This group is what inspires her to craft. As such, she chose her Amtgard name to represent her company.
